VIRGIL DAHLBERG

Virgil Dahlberg, 79, of Brady died Tuesday, Sept. 26 in Eden. Graveside services will be held Friday (today) at 11 a.m. in Rest Haven Cemetery, Dr. George Gourley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home. Born Aug. 8, 1921, in West Sweden to O.G. and Judith (Sandberg) Dahlberg, he married Lillie Deans on Nov. 4, 1944, in Brady. He was a postal carrier and a member of the Sunset Ridge Church of Christ where he was a church elder. He served as president of the American Cancer Socity for many years, was on the board of directors for Farm Bureau and was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Lillie, of Brady; two sons, Steve Dahlberg and wife, Mitzi, of Brownwood and Dan Dahlberg and wife, Cindy, of Ballinger; a daughter, Judy Carpenter and husband, Jimmy, of Waynesville, NC; two brothers, David Dahlberg of Brady and Leonard Dahlberg of Eden; 12 grandchildren; two great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
