Toano - Bertrand Edward Geddy, 80, Toano, died Thursday in Williamsburg Community Hospital after a long illness.
A lifelong resident of James City County, he was a World War I veteran, past master and 50-year member of Chickahominy Lodge 286 AF & AM of Toano, and for 45 years was part owner and operator of Wilkinson and Geddy General Store in Toano.
He served 45 years on the board of directors of Peninsula Bank and Trust Co. and in 1968 was named director emeritus of the bank.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Trittie Ware Geddy, one son, Bertrand E. Geddy Jr., and one granddaughter, all of Toano.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hickory Neck Episcopal Church by the Rev. Harmon Smith.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Bucktrout Funeral Home, Williamsburg, is in charge.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Hickory Neck Episcopal Church restoration fund.
