Funeral services for Marshall Archer, 54, of 2810 11th Av., Vienna, who died Sunday in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital following an automobile accident Saturday in Vienna, will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ogdin Funeral Home. The Riv. G. William Woolford will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
His car struck a parked vehicle and according to the attending physician he suffered multiple contusions of the chest and head.
He was born at Sherman in Jackson County, son of the late Lincoln and Ora Plate Archer. He was a veteran of World War II, and had been employed as a brick layer for several area contractors. He was a member of the Bricklayer's Union Local No. 6 for 35 years, and was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruth Adams Archer; two sons, Marshall Lee Archer of Walder, and James Allen Archer of Vienna; two daughters, Mrs. Lewis Carder of Parkersburg and Mrs. R. P. Metzger of Titusville, Fla.; two brothers, Lincoln Archer of Parkersburg and Blair Archer of Waverly; three sisters, Mrs. C. P. Snodgrass and Mrs. W. T. Snodgrass, both of Parkersburg and Mrs. Nellie Deem of Temple City, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.
