Jim was born on March 31, 1935 in Crawford County, Ohio, to Aaron and Mildred
(Gardner) Nordyke, both of whom are deceased.
He is survived by a son, Jim (Kyla) Nordyke of Kirby, 2 daughters, Debbie Chestnut of Harpster, and Leigh (Kurt) Richter of Woodland, California. 3 grandchildren, Adam and Jordan Richter, Carson (Erika) Orians, and 2 great grandchildren, Emma and Carmen Orians
Jim is also survived by 3 brothers: Terry Nordyke of Carey, Michael (Bev) Nordyke of New Riegel, Donald Nordyke of Yellville, Arkansas, 5 sisters: Rebecca (Everett) Taylor of Upper Sandusky, Louise Treadway of Wharton, Donna (Andrew) Roberts of Upper Sandusky, Phyllis Sigler of Creston, and Marilyn Toops of Upper Sandusky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson, Casey Nordyke, a brother, Thomas Nordyke, and 4 sisters, Toni Kaye Nordyke, Patricia Ann DeJean, and Arlene Richards, and Sarah York.
Jim was a 1953 graduate of Nevada High School and went on to retire from the Okonite Company in Santa Maria, California. Before that he was a plant manager at Swan in Bucyrus.
He was a member of the John Stewart United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky, and enjoyed playing cards, golfing, hunting, trapping, and tinkering with small motors.
A Celebration of Life Service for James A. Nordyke will be announced at a later date.
