Marylin J. Toops, age 80, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the Marion General Hospital.

Marylin was born on July 26, 1943, in Bucyrus, Ohio, to Aaron and Mildred (Gardner) Nordyke, and they preceded her in death. She was married to Kenneth W. Toops I on June 5, 1964, and he preceded her in death on January 9, 1988.

Marylin is survived by her children: Kenneth W. Toops II of Upper Sandusky, Carissa (John) VanScoder of Upper Sandusky, 3 grandchildren; Alycia (Kathy) Skidmore, Emily Laub, and Sarah (James) Skidmore, 5 great grandchildren; Zoey, Skylar, Lucas, Daniel, and Richard, along with 2 brothers, Terry Nordyke of Florida, Mike (Bev) Nordyke of New Riegel, and 4 sisters: Rebecca (Everett) Taylor of Upper Sandusky, Louise Treadway of Upper Sandusky, Donna (Andrew) Roberts of Upper Sandusky, and Phyllis Sigler of Canaan.

Marylin was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, Thomas, James, and Donald, 4 sisters, Toni Kaye Nordyke, Patricia Ann DeJean, Arelene Richards, and Sarah York.

Marylin retired after many years from Fairhaven Community where she was a nurse's aide. Marylin loved taking care of her people.

Marylin enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed music and dancing, her cats, and her dog Coco.

A funeral service for Marylin will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky and will be officiated by Pastor Betsy Bowen.

Visitations will be held from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
