Willard Lee Gebhart, 85, of Lapeer, died Sunday April 21, 2019 surrounded by family. He was born November 24, 1933 in Lewisburg, OH to parents Oscar and Harriet (Roberts) Gebhart. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army. He later married Martha A. Kreski on August 19, 1985 in Fort Wayne, IN.
Mr. Gebhart was an engineer with General Motors, retiring in 2001 after 50 years. Bill supported the N.R.A. and enjoyed the Lapeer Sportsman’s Club. He will be missed by his family.
Bill is survived by his wife of 33 years: Martha, children: Jennifer (Stuart) Yemec of Rochester; Leah Gebhart of Port Huron; Lee “Alex” Gebhart of Rochester; Todd Gebhart and Mary Kay Gebhart, grandchildren: Stephanie (& James); Christopher; Elizabeth; Trevor; Madelyn; Liam; T.J.; Marie and great-grandchild: Rubie. He was preceded in death by siblings: Bob Gebhart; Opal Gebhart and his parents.
Willard's memorial service will be held 11:00AM Thursday, April 25, 2019, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3080 W. Oregon Rd., Lapeer, Michigan 48446. Bishop Lee Huffaker will officiate the service, with a luncheon to follow immediately after the service at the church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church, from 10-11AM. on Thursay, April 25, 2019. Following his own wishes; cremation has been entrusted with Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Interment of cremated remains will eventually take place in the Oregon Twp. Cemetery, Columbiaville.
