She was born December 2, 1919, in Medford Township, Minnesota, the daughter of Andrew Christian Anhorn and Pearl Margaret (Erdmann) Anhorn. She grew up in Osage, IA, and graduated high school there with the class of 1937. On January 30, 1960, she was united in marriage to John Phillip Volk in Chicago, IL. Bee worked in data processing and as an office manager for Rollins, Burdick, Hunter, an insurance brokerage company in Chicago. She had also worked in the advertising department for IGA Wholesale Groceries.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John in 2004; one step-son, Robert Volk; three brothers, Wayne Edward Anhorn (In infancy), Ruben and Lyle Anhorn.
