Mr. DiArpino taught at the former Bennett College, Millbrook and sold real estate in the Millbrook area. For several years he wrote a column for the Millbrook Round Table.
He was the Town Historian of the Town of Washington. He enjoyed philosophy, history, theology, art, and theater.
During World War II, Mr. DiArpino served in the European Theatre with the 4th Infantry Division. He was awarded two Purple Hearts for wounds received in battle, and earned the Combat Infantry Badge.
He was a longtime member of the Lyall Memorial Federated Church, Millbrook.
Born in Naples, Italy, on Jan. 2, 1916, he was a son of Carmine and Carmela Lerro DiArpino.
He attended and graduated from Bloomfield College, Bloomfield, N.J. He did post graduate work at Columbia University in New York City.
Survivors include two nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother and a sister.
Funeral services were on Nov. 19 at the Lyall Memorial Federated Church, Millbrook, The Rev. Karl Esmark officiated.
Burial was in Nine Partners Cemetery, Millbrook.
Arrangements were by Allen Funeral Home, Millbrook.
