Herman H. Harper, 81, of Paducah, KY passed away at 8:30 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Scottsville, KY. Herman was retired from the McCracken County School System. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Hendron Lions Club and the Hendron Volunteer Fire Department.

Herman is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jo Ann Meunier Harper of Paducah, KY; daughter, Debbie Gibbs and husband John of Paducah, KY; son, Kevin Harper and wife Susan of Paducah, KY; sisters, Eva Bean and Joyce Scobel both of Atlanta, Ga, Mary Buchanan of Paducah, KY; 5 grandchildren, Whitney Harper, Hailey Harper, Christy Hart and husband Joe, Johnna Travis and husband Keith and Shelbie York; 9 great grandchildren, Chris Brindley, Devon Hart, Jadon Hart, Charlie Morrison, Cooper Morrison, Landon Travis, Austin Travis, Lauran Travis and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Addielee Henderson and Dean Ornduff; 5 brothers, Ray Harper, Howitt Harper, Dale Harper, Robert Harper, George Harper. His parents were George Harper and Addie Goodwin Harper.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Nolan officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial
Gardens.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
