“Salute to Private Jeffrey Collins
“On Tuesday, the 20th, the Col James Wood, II Chapter of the Virginia Society of the Sons of the American Revolution held a grave marking ceremony for PVT Jeffrey Collins a Revolutionary War solider. The ceremony was held in the Lewin Lawson Cemetery located at Glen Manor Vinyards. Jeffrey Collins was born in 1756 in Gooney Manor, now Browntown, VA and died in 1851 aged 95 years, 8 months and 10 days. He was married to Jemima Arterburn and they had 7 children. Al White's late wife Anna Rae Rudadcille, her cousins Sharon Collins Brunson (guest) and Sherry C. Young (guest speaker) descended from this family. PVT Collins had the distinction of being "the oldest living Revolutionary War Soldier in Warren County, Virginia.
