WATERBURY — Corey William Arline Byrd, 21, of 172 Sylvan Ave., entered into eternal rest Thursday, June 28, 2007, at Waterbury Hospital. He was born Aug. 8, 1985, in Waterbury, son of Richard "Ricky" Byrd Jr. and Tyrvonder Arline, both of Waterbury. Corey was educated in the Waterbury school system and attended Crosby High School. Corey enjoyed working on the computer and spending time with his friends. However, being with his sister, Amber, and his mother brought him the most joy.
Beside his mother and father, the loving memories of Corey will remain with his three sisters, Amber Parker and Reese Stuart, both of Waterbury, and Alici Calloway of Decatar, Ga.; three brothers, Jacarl Foy of Waterbury, Lashawn Byrd of Decatur, Ga., and Kendall Elliott of Suffolk, Va.; maternal grandfather William Thomas Arline Jr., paternal grandmother Yvonne Byrd, paternal grandfather Richard "Dickie" Byrd Sr. and great-grandmother Hattie Mae Rush, all of Waterbury; a host of cousins; several aunts and uncles; and friends. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Rosa Lee Arline. Corey will always be in our memory.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday, July 6, at Zion Baptist Church, 137 Pearl St., at 11 a.m. Calling hour 10 a.m. until time of service. The family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m. and all other times at 172 Sylvan Ave. Burial in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Arrangements in care of Petteway Family Funeral Service, 116 East Farm St., Waterbury.
