Martha Jolene Bauer, 79, Anderson, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2019, at her residence in Anderson following a extended illness.
She was born on June 12, 1940, in Anderson, to Max Zent and Martha (Hartzell) Zent.
Jolene was graduated from Frankton High School in 1958.
She retired in 1996 from Frankton/Lapel Community School Corp. as a cook in the Lapel School cafeteria.
Jolene attended the Anderson First Church of the Nazarene. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to cook, garden and spend time with her precious family.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Karla) Mills of Anderson, Mark Mills of Anderson, and Teresa (Kevin) House of Anderson; grandchildren, Kyle (Rachel) Mills of Anderson, Amanda (Brian) Fuller of Anderson, Jack (Melissa) House of Anderson, Brittnee House of Lapel, Ashlee House of Lapel; great-grandchildren, Lydia, Abram, Keith, Emmalynn, Jacklynn, Macen, and Jared; sister-in-law, Arlene Zent; stepchildren, James Bauer, Mike (Carol) Bauer, Dan (Michelle) Bauer, Pam (Kenny) Reddick, Chris Bauer, and Richard (Carrie) Bauer. She is also survived by several stepgrand- and great-grandchildren.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin "Eddie" Bauer; son, Timothy Mills; and two brothers, Max and Jim Zent.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 N. Main St., Lapel, with Dr. Lindell Browning officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.
