Robert W. “Warner” Hirstein, 68, of Mt. Zion, passed away Monday, August 19, 2019.

Warner was born in Decatur, the son of Albert R. and Lena M. (Wagoner) Hirstein. Warner, a certified hazardous materials specialist, worked for the Macon County Highway Department before retiring in 2013. He was member of Holy Family Catholic Church, and 4th degree member and trustee of Holy Family Knights of Columbus Council #17241. Warner married Paula A. Hogan on June 19, 1982 in Mt. Zion, IL.

Warner was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Paula of Mt. Zion; son, Steve Hirstein of IN; grandson, Justin Hirstein; brothers: Chet Bradford and Dale Bradford of Decatur, Roger (Del) Hirstein of WI, Richard (Joyce) Hirstein of AL and Dennis (Karen) Hirstein of GA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, August 23, 2019 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church; vigil prayer service will be at 2:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will take place in Macon County Memorial Park, Decatur. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.
