Mr. Luther Carroll Hopkins, age 88, of Fayetteville, TN. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Self officiating. Burial will follow at Gatlin Cemetery beside his first wife, Glendale Crabtree Hopkins. Visitation with the family will be from 5 pm to 8 pm on Monday, June 13, 2022, at Higgins.
Mr. Hopkins was born April 24, 1934, in Lincoln County, TN to the late Andrew Jackson and Mabel Louise Smith Hopkins. He was a Veteran of the US Navy and served during the Korean War. Luther worked for Shelby Construction in Huntsville for many years and later retired from the Lincoln County Water Department. He was a member of Molino Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, coon hunting, fishing, and storytelling. Mr. Hopkins passed away June 8, 2022, at Donalson Care Center.
In addition to his parents and his first wife Glendale Crabtree Hopkins, he was preceded in death by his wife of 20 years, Frances Parks Hopkins; and sisters, Mary Frances Draper, Loretta Henson, and Dorothy Jean Parks; and bonus son, Roger Cothren.
