Awanda Annette Williams, 91, passed away on August 17, 2019. She was born on March 29, 1928 to James Monroe and Millicie King in Madisonville, Kentucky.

Awanda was a very athletic woman. She played tennis in high school and loved to bowl in the afternoons in the 50s. Awanda worked at Nussmeier Engraving and Morris Plan Thrift and Saving in the 40s and 50s. In the 60s she worked as an administrator for Oral Surgeons Whitehead, Pfafflin, and Henry for over 6 years. Awanda was an avid Aces basketball fan. She had season tickets for almost 50 years and enjoyed going to the games. She was also a Miami Dolphins fan. Awanda was a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed cooking for, caring, and loving her family. She loved gardening, especially roses. They were her favorite. For several decades Awanda attended Melody Hills Free Methodist Church which is currently known as The Well at Melody Hill. She was very devoted to the church.

Awanda is survived by her children Karen (Bill) Condis and Ron Williams (Steve Bullard); grandchildren Andrea (Cherokee James) Smith; and great-grandchildren Liam and Mila Smith.

Awanda was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Vernon Williams; her parents; and her 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m. on Thursday, August 22nd with a burial to directly follow at Sunset Memorial Park
