Edwin James, infant son of Robert and Mary Dicks was born December 20, 1932 at Carbon, Iowa and passed away from this life January 24, 1933 at the age of one month and four day. He leaves to mourn his parting his mother, father, one sister, Roberta Darlene, age 6, and one brother, Victor William, age 2 1/2 years. Also one grandmother, Mrs. Jennie Case of Lenox, Iowa, and many other relatives and friends who feel the loss of this little life which was sho short. One little sister, Dorthy Helen, preceded him in death at the age of 5 months.
We had a little treasure once. He was our joy and pride. We loved him, perhaps too well. For soon he slept and died. All is dark within our dwelling, Lonely are our hearts today. For the one we loved so dearly, has forever passed away.
The funeral was held from the parent’s home in Carbon, Wednesday, January 25, 1933. Rev. W. H. Herman, pastor of the M. E. Church, conducted the services and the remains were laid to rest in the Quincy Cemetery.
The bereaved family have the sympathy of their many friends.
