Mary O. Smith Fisher, 65, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at home after a long illness.
Born Mar. 31, 1943, in Alderson, she was the daughter of the late Halford and Minnie K. Kinser Thompson. Mrs. Fisher had been a resident of Clintonville for 14 years and was formerly of Lewisburg. She attended the James Chapel United Methodist Church, Clintonville, was a self-employed dairy maid and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; first husband, Marshall Smith; second Husband, J. P. Fisher; and brother, Eugene Thompson.
She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her daughter, Mary Smith Hoke Howard and husband Les of Clintonville; children, Nacole and Tasha Howard and Eli Hoke and wife Ruth and great-grandchild, Kaleb James Hoke; her two sons, James F. Fisher of Bluefield, VA, Lefty W. Smith and wife Robbie of Sinks Grove and children, Trevor and Erin Smith; three sisters, Christine Forren of Fort Spring, Luella Magoon of Arizona and Florene Forren of Roanoke, VA; and brother, Hershel Thompson and wife Patsy of Fort Spring. Special people in her life were: Ken Whitlow, Donna and Larry Stover, Patty and Carl Dunbar.
Visitation is Tuesday evening, Dec. 16, 2008 at the Longanacre Funeral Home, Fairlea.
Services are Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008 at the Longanacre Funeral Home Chapel, Fairlea, where Rev. Jimmy Rodgers and Rev. Von Sadler officiated followed by burial is at the Asbury Community Cemetery, Asbury, WV.
