Funeral services will be Friday, August 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Allen Meeks officiating.
Interment will follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery with Rev. Andrew Flowers officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6-8 PM.
Pallbearers are: Vince Scott, Mark Judd, Bobby Frank Sherrod, Jerry Lawson Jr., Lanier Griswold and Jerry Odom.
Mrs. Powell was born December 18, 1928 in Swainsboro, Emanuel County, GA to the late Coleman E. and Ina M. Rich Moore and was a 1945 graduate of Swainsboro High School. She was a homemaker, loved flower gardening, growing fruit trees and raising chickens. Mrs. Powell was dedicated and supportive of her family whatever the need, loved spending time with them, and her granddaughter was one of her special treasures. She attended Southside Baptist Church and in addition to her parents, was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Powell Jr.; sisters, Collene Jones and Virginia Poytress.
Survivors Include:
Two Sons: Samuel H. Powell of Jacksonville, FL and Wendell Powell (LeiAnn) of Swainsboro, GA
One Grandchild: Liza M. Olmo (Jason) of Jacksonville, FL
Special Caregivers: Annette, Kathy, Martha, Sabrina, Latrail, Staff of Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home.
