Hubert L. Albea, 89, of Anderson, passed away on Aug. 10, 2019, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 10, 1930, in Eden, Indiana, and resided in Anderson for most of his life.
Hubert owned and operated Albea Plumbing for 35 years and was plumbing inspector for the City of Anderson for 15 years.
He was past master of Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge and a member of the Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine.
Hubert attended Fifth Street United Methodist Church. He was also active in many other civic organizations over the course of his years, including Little League and Babe Ruth baseball. Hubert was inducted in the Indiana Babe Ruth Hall of Fame in 1993. He found great happiness on a ball field, of any kind, watching his family play.
Hubert is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Phyllis (Land) Albea; sons, David (Mary) Albea and Tim Albea; daughters, Sandy (Bill) Cunningham and Janet (Alan) Gregg; daughter-in-law, Leeta Albea; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Thelma Albea; son, Charles Mark "Butch" Albea; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Albea; and his six brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, and again one hour prior to the services on Friday. A Masonic Memorial Service will take place at 7:30 p.m.
Services will be held on Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Daryl Gilbert officiating.
Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson.
