Charles H. Albea, Jr., 79, of Anderson, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2016, at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born on Sept. 29, 1936, in Greenfield to the late Charles and Thelma (Hite) Albea, Sr. and has lived in Anderson for the past 30 years. In 1993, he retired from Delco Remy after 32 years of employment and then worked for Hoosier Park.
Charles was a member of the Eden Masonic Lodge 477, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and loved race horses, raising dogs, hunting, fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mildred Marie (Clay) Albea, of Anderson; son, Charles L. (Rose) Albea, of Anderson; grandchildren, Brandon S. (Brandi) Albea, Justin L. (Lindsay Joy) Albea, Alisa (Kevin) Bowman and Leah Sexton Bowman; great-grandchildren, Charli, Alli, Harper and Keegan; son-in-law, Rick Jenkin, of Carmel; brother, Hubert (Phyllis) Albea, of Anderson; sister, Bobbie (Ken) Sparks, of Michigan; sister-in-law, Pearl Denniston; brother-in-law, James (Barb) Clay; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Thelma M. Jenkin; brother, Nemuel Albea; and sisters, Delma Heiden and Betty Marshall.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, Anderson, with Pastor Dave Crittenden officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.
