Curtis William Wood, Sr., 72, of Westridge Dr., died Tuesday at his home. He was born in Patrick County, Virginia, on February 6, 1914, a son of Andrew Jack and Nannie Sue Via Wood. He was president of Curt Mfg. Company until he retired four years ago. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and the Junior Order United American Mechanics. On May 14, 1938, he married Bernice Ijames, who survivies of the home.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Glenda (Steve) McNeil of Shadow Road, and Mrs. Lynn (Robert) Kirk of Oakview Road; one son, Dr. Curtis William Wood, Jr. of Cullowhee, North Carolina; one sister, Mrs. James Ballard of Colfax; one brother, James A. Wood of Hasty School Road, Thomasville, and six grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cumby Chapel by Dr. E.W. Price, Jr. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
