Joseph came to America in 1868 and settled in Jackson County, Wisconsin. He engaged in farming, which occupation he followed for many years—as long as he was physically able to do so. After this, he went west for his health and resided a few years at Omaha, Nebraska. He then returned to reside with his family in Black River Falls, where he passed away January 9, 1924, of heart failure, at the age of 81 years and 1 month.
Funeral services were held at the home, the Rev. A. D. Willett officiating. Interment was at the Irving Cemetery.
