Steven Anthony Verwolf

U.S. Veteran Steven Anthony Verwolf, 61, of Sandpoint died Saturday, June 28, 2008 at his home. He was born March 26, 1947 in Sandpoint, the son of Anthony “Stub” and Esther Verwolf. He was raised in Dover, and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1965. He enlisted in the US Navy and served 4 years during the Vietnam War. Upon his discharge he returned to Sandpoint and worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator, and has spent some time in Alaska on the pipeline. He continued working until ill health forced his retirement. Steven was always close to his family, especially his mother whom he had a special bond. He spent many hours at Ricardo’s where he was captain of the “red table.”

He is survived by his mother: Esther Verwolf of Kootenai, 3 siblings: Larry Verwolf, Vicki (Robert) Henry both of Sandpoint, Kari (Jim) Gage of Sagle; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

His father, 1 brother, Jimmy, and 1 niece preceded him in death.

An informal gathering and potluck will be conducted 1:00PM, Thursday, July 3, 2008 at the Dover Community Hall. All are invited to bring food and share in this time of remembrance of Steven.
