Earl O. Hyman, 57, a prominent Delphi businessman and member of the Delphi City Council, died at the family home 409 West Main Street in Delphi at 2 a.m. Thursday morning after a sudden heart attack.

Born January 13, 1901 in Carroll county, he was the son of Charles M. and Katherine Sprinkle Hyman. His marriage on June 2, 1922, was to Hazel Cline.

The family came to Delphi in 1935 from Young America. Since coming here Mr. Hyman has been engaged in the grocery business, and is currently the owner of the Drive In Market in West Delphi. He was a member of the Center UB church in Young America and the Delphi IOOF lodge.

Surviving are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. JoAnn Johnson of Camden and Mrs. Betty Jo Richardson of Delphi; two sons, Robert of route 3, Delphi and C. J. at home. A brother, Clarence of Rockfield and a sister, Mrs. Neva Ashby of Macy, Indiana.

Funeral rites were conducted Saturday from the Eikenberry funeral home with Rev. Frederic Chandler officiating. Burial was in the Center UB Cemetery.
