Ronald Cochran (20170600)

“Suggested edit: Ronald Durvin Cochran, age 56, of 311 West Main Street, passed away last night at the John Cochran VA Hospital in St. Louis following a long illness.

Mr. Cochran was a native of Lawrence County and was born near Sumner, the son of Josiah Cochran and Margaret Herrin Cochran. He was married to Thelma Biggs on August 10,1947.

Ronald was a veteran of World War 2 and served in the South Pacific area and had received the Purple Heart after being wounded in action against the enemy. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4226, Richland Post No. 30 of the American Legion and the
Disabled American Veterans Post of Olney.

He leaves his wife Thelma, a daughter Marsha and a foster daughter Phyllis Novak of Olney. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Barbara Bellinger and Mrs. Mabel Stevenson, both of Sumner.

Funeral services will be held in the Memorial Chapel of the Summers-Marshall Funeral Home with the Rev. Louis Frick officiating. Interment will be in the Sumner City Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home. Military Honors will be rendered at the graveside by the Olney Veteran organizations.

Those desiring to make memorials may do so by making contributions to the Cancer Fund.
