Mrs. Emma Pearl Queen Watson, 55, 1324 South Fifteenth St. was struck by a truck Wednesday afternoon about 5:30 pm on December 11, 1946, she died a few hours later.
Mrs Watson, the wife of Sylvanus Watson, a retired farmer, came to St. Joseph two years ago.She lived most of her life in the vicinity of Grant City, Mo.
In addition to the husband, of the home, she is survived by five sons, Ralph, Sylvanus, and Ernest Watson, all of St Joseph; Carl Watson, Fort Madison, Iowa, and Quartermaster Second Class Virgie Hubert Watson, aboard the U.S.S.Fresno; five daughters,Mrs. Faye Steve, Mrs. Edith Robison, Miss Betty Jean Watson,all of St. Joseph; Mrs. Ellen Cooper, Independence, Mo. and Miss Mary Alice Watson, Omaha, Neb.; seven brothers Clarence, William, George and James Queen, all of St Joseph,Mo. Carl Queen, Wathena, Kan; Lester Queen, St. Paul, Minn., and John Queen, Belolt, Kan.; one sister Mrs. Evelyn Hart, St. Joseph, Mo. and six grandchildren.
Mrs. Watson was a member of the Methodist Church at Grant City. The body is at the Barry Mortuary. The Rev. Paul Barton will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
