Charleston - Mary Louisa Ball departed this life in peace October 19, 2012. She was born June 30, 1920 to the late Commodore Adrian R. Marron and Katherine Ficken of Charleston, SC. Raised in a naval family, she grew up at many postings stateside and abroad. After graduating George Washington University in 1942, she enlisted in the Women Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC/WAC) for the duration of World War II. She married Alexander K. Ball in 1949 and they raised a family of 3 sons in Lexington and Asheboro, NC before retiring to Charleston in 1978. Mary Louisa is survived by her brother John Marron and his wife Betty Ann of Richland, Washington; three sons: James Moultrie Ball and wife Lee Ann, Bruce Marron Ball and his wife Phoebe, and Thomas Heyward Ball. Four grandchildren: Pat-rick, Cassie, Eric and Sam. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alexander K. Ball and her sister Adrian Winters. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at the Chapel at Bishop Gads-den, Monday October 22, 10:30 am. The burial will be private. There will be a reception in the Young Library following the service. Donations can be made to Strawberry Chapel, 29 Creekside Drive, Mt.
