Overturned Auto Fatal To Boy, 16

A one-car accident around 11 p.m. Saturday on North Rouse south of Frontenac that killed Michael Charles Evans, 16, 116 North Highland Street, occurred when the vehicle Evans was driving ran off the road, skidded in a ditch, then overturned, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

[Mr. Evans was born] in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, and lived in Franklin and Pittsburg most of his life.

Survivors include his father, Harold L. Evans; his mother, Mrs. Vincent Taroli, Franklin; three half-brothers, James Stanley, Shreveport, Louisiana, Jack Stanley, rural Pittsburg, and Kenneth Stanley, Houma, Louisiana; three half sisters, Mrs. Barbara Anderson, Center, Texas, Mrs. Betty Ball, Arma, and Mrs. Shirley Lent, also of Arma.

Funeral services are pending at the Brenner Mortuary.

Funeral services for Michael C. Evans, 16, will be held at 10 a.m. today in the Brenner Chapel, with the Rev. Leon Hayen officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories.

Pallbearers will be Arnold Burton, Jimmie Eastep, Michael Natalini, Doug Brisendine, Carney Morgan, and Jeff Gracornetti.
