1st Wife of Gov. Woodbridge Ferris, whom she married December 23, 1874 at her home in Fulton, NY.

Helen taught ar Ferris Institue until retiring in 1901. She was the mother of Carleton Gillespie, Clifford and Phelps Fitch Ferris.

Wife of Governor Ferris Dead.
Mrs. Woodbridge N. Ferris, wife of the former Democratic governor of Michigan, died a few days ago at the family home in Big Rapids.
Mrs. Ferris had been an invalid for several years and only a few days before she died submitted to an operation for the amputation of her right leg.
Governor Ferris was a guest of the Corn School Week, in LaGrange, in October of 1915, and delivered an address.
