Mrs. Nancy Herron, one of Cecil township's oldest women, died at the home of her son, John M. Herron, Sabbath, Jan 27, at 9 a.m. after a lingering illness of nearly a year in her 84th year. Mrs. Herron was a wonderfully bright and intelligent Christian woman and one who won the esteem of all who knew her. Her maiden name was McBride. She was married to Stephen Herron, who has been dead several years. Ten children were born to them, four of whom survive. They are John M., James, Harry E. and Mrs. John Phillips. One son, William, was killed in the Civil war. The funeral will take place from the home of her son J.M. Herron, Tuesday, Jan 29, at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Speer Spring Cemetery. The services will be conducted by Rev. R.H. Coulter, assisted by Rev. A.B. Brown.

Mrs. Nancy Herron, widow of the late Stephen Herron, died Sunday, January 27, '01, at the home of her son, John, in Cecil township, after an illness of nearly a year, aged 83 years. The deceased was a McBride and was a most estimable woman. She was the mother of 10 children, four of whom survive, John, James, Harry and Mrs. John Phillips. One son, William, was killed in the civil war. The funeral services were held Tuesday, at 11 o'clock; interment in Spear Spring Cemetery.
