SUMMAR, Janice Durham Passed away unexpectedly on September 7th, 2008. She was born in Smithville, TN on January 31st, 1938, the daughter of Thomas and Rosie Durham.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert A. Summar; brother, W.C. Durham and sister, Elsie Durham.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan Elizabeth Summar of Winter Park, FL and Noel Anne Summar of Nashville, TN; sister, Sue Brown (Thomas) Summar; sister-in-law, Jamie Summar; and brothers-in-law, David Summar (Anneal) and Joe Summar (Betty).

She was a graduate of Hendersonville High School and had a successful career in modeling. She was active at the Oak Hill School and at Harpeth Hall, and enjoyed working with Bill Hudson and Associates after raising her daughters.

She was a devoted wife, mother and friend.

The visitation will be at First Presbyterian Church, 4815 Franklin Pike, Nashville, at the Cheek House on Friday, September 12th, 2008 from 4 to 6 p.m..

The Memorial Service will be in the Chapel on Saturday, September 13th, 2008 at 2 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to Alive Hospice at St. Thomas Hospital or to the First Presbyterian Church Columbarium. COLE & GARRETT FUNERAL HOME, Goodlettsville, TN (615) 859-5231
