Mrs. Ford worked as a hairdresser for many years. She was a member of the National Hairdressers and Cosmetology Association, the Wabash Moose Lodge, and the Banquo Christian Church. She attended Banquo High School and received her general education development (GED) diploma in the 1950s. She had lived at Heritage Pointe for the past year and had lived in Van Buren for six years prior to that time.

She was born July 9, 1923 in Banquo, a daughter of Willard and Isadore Rinearson Black.

Survivors include a son, Russel W. Brown, Branson, Mo.; a daughter, Connie Endsley, Van Buren; three sisters, Marthalene Butler, Harlingen, Texas, Margaret Hunter, Beaver Dam, and Marjorie Black, Baldwin, Mich.; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Signa Beth Brown; a sister, Melba Trisler; and a brother, John T. Black.
