Lily Elda Amiss was born the second daughter of Thomas Henry and Minerva Jane Amiss on May 10th, 1912. She was born like her siblings in their family home in St. George, Kansas. She was named after a flower, as were her three siblings, Daisy, Violet, and Rose Jane. She attended school in St. George, and later while still in school drove the first school bus to get her classmates to school. St. George is also where she met her husband George Dillon Dugan, whom she married on November 4th, 1934 and they had one daughter Betty Lou on December 1st, 1939. She and her husband lived well over 50 years in the little town of St. Marys, Kansas. Lily was well travelled, getting to see most all of the United States, as well as Hawaii and Alberta, Edmondton,Ontario Canada. She lost her husband, and both parents in the year 1965. She retired from working life in 1974, and enjoyed a quiet but active life. She passed at St. Marys nursing home of an pulmonary embelism and heart failure at the age of 87 September 24th, 1999. She is survived by her daughter Betty Lou "Dugan" Phillips, and two grand children James Dillon (Jamie) and Robin Lynnette Phillips.
