Robert S. Foresman was born in Union county (sic), White Deer Valley, Penn., on December 5th, 1835, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.W. Hawley, in Nelson, Nebraska, December 12th, 1920, having reached the age of 85 years and 7 days. After his marriage to Katherine A. Harman (sic) on September 15th, 1862, they resided in Williamsport, Penn., where their four children were born. Later, Mr. Foresman bought his family to the west, residing a few years in Chicago, and then in Lincoln, Nebraska. In more recent years Mr. and Mrs. Foresman made their home in Darlington, Wis. He lived a trusting, Christian life, being a member of the Congregational church. One daughter, Ida May, was called home in her early childhood. Besides the widow, he leaves three children, Mrs. H.L. Jolly of Darlington, Wisc.; Mrs. W.W. Hawley of Nelson; and John R. of Minneapolis, Minn., to mourn his death.

The funeral service was held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Hawley on Tuesday afternoon. The service was conducted by the Rev. V.E. Shirley of the Christian church.
