Darlene (McGirt) Morgan was born on July 21, 1944 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Isaac McGirt and Hepsey (Marshall) McGirt, and passed from this life on July 22, 2019 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Darlene was raised in Wetumka and made the town her life-long home. She was baptized January 1, 1961 at the Wetumka Indian Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She also held many offices within the church, including women’s treasurer for WMU. She married Bobby Morgan December 15, 1979.

Darlene worked at many local restaurants and also worked as a baby-sitter for several families in Wetumka, and enjoyed helping to care for children. Many in her family called her Dolla, and the children she cared for affectionately called her Darla.

Darlene is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Morgan; by her parents; by her brothers, John Thomas and Baby Dan McGirt; and by her sister, Irene McQueen.

Darlene is survived by her sister, Rachael Asbury; brother, David McGirt; and niece Debbie McGirt, who was like a daughter to Darlene.

Funeral services for Darlene Morgan will be held at the Wetumka Indian Baptist Church, with interment to follow at the church cemetery.
