Irene Mcgirt McQueen was born July 31, 1938 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Isaac McGirt and Hempsey Marshall McGirt and passed from this life January 13, 2013 at Holdenville. She was a 1958 graduate of Wetumka High School. Following graduation she attended East Central University, Southwester State College and Seminole Junior College. She married J. M. "Mort" McQueen on March 11, 1983. She loved working in her flower garden, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. As a teenager she was baptized at the Wetumka IndianBaptist Church where she remained a long time active member. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John Thomas and baby Dan McGirt.
