An article in the Wyoming County Times, 23 Apr 1890, states: Abram VanSickle, whose death was announced a few weeks since, was an excellent citizen, but extremely eccentric. Without being a mechanic, he was an inventor of the enthusiastic kind, and although not a theologian of any recognized school, he was ready at any time to expound his peculiar theories, and defend his tenets against all comers.
