Jerry Allen Thompson was born September 2, 1939 to Norma and Theodore Thompson. He passes from this life on July 17, 2019 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Allen was raised in Delhi, Oklahoma and attend school there until graduation. He was an impressive pitcher on the Delhi baseball team, famous for his curve ball.
Allen was married to Nola Webster and in 1963, he and Nola were shipped to Italy for his duty to the US Army. He had many funny stories about Italy and said they were so poor he couldn't even afford a haircut, so Nola gave him one much to the disapproval of his commanding officer.
He and Nola had various jobs. He delivered milk and his favorite customer were the children at Tipton Children's Home. He also drove the MRI machine to Sayre every week. They owned a ranch down in the brakes at Erick, where he enjoyed raising cattle. Later on, they started Allen Thompson Trucking, where he never met a stranger and had loyal truck drivers for many years.
Nola was the love of his life. She made life interesting with her laughter and story telling of this life together. They were married for over 50 years and enjoyed many trips with Bill and Lajaryl Callahan. Allen had an attraction for unusual cars and still owned a 1999 blue Corvette.
Allen was preceded in death by his wife Nola and one brother Phillip. He is survived by his brother David Thompson. He also leaves many, many friends. Everyone was Allen's friend, but the closest to him were cousins Gwen Barker and Priscilla Burden.
