Annie Louise was an excellent seamstress and dressed her three daughters beautifully every day. She had worked at Rockdale Floor Covering and also Sears. Following retirement, Annie Louise and Leon purchased a motorhome and traveled to many destinations. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When her great-grandson was born, she became “Super Nana”.
Annie Louise was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Leon Hurta; granddaughter, Christina Louise Dees; sister & brother-in-law, Mattie Mae & W.A. Jones; brother & sister-in-law, Teddy Ray & Anna Jane Rodell; brother, Adolph Rodell; sister-in-law, Beth Rodell; brother-in-law, Arthur Dunn and sons-in-law, Mike Fuller, Jerry Young & Randall Hackfield.
Surviving family members include daughters, Linda Young of Athens, Janie Fuller of Baytown and Rebecca Dees (Charles) of Baytown; grandchildren, Stephanie Esmond of Athens, Michael Fuller of Baytown, Jonathan Fuller of Houston and Joseph Dees of Baytown; great-grandson, Kyle Fuller; sisters, Donna Melcher (Bob) of Rockdale and Christine Dunn of Centerville; brother, Dan Rodell of Centerville and numerous nieces and nephews whom Annie Louise loved dearly.
Funeral services for Annie Louise will be held 10 A.M., Friday, July 19, 2019 at New Salem Cemetery Chapel in the Centerview Community of Leon County. Bro. Bobby Burleson will officiate the service. Interment will follow in New Salem Cemetery adjacent to the chapel.
Pallbearers: Michael Fuller, Jonathan Fuller, Joseph Dees, Matthew Dunn, Jamie Dunn, Christopher Beason. Honorary Pallbearer: James Dunn.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.
