She died Saturday, January 4, 2003 in Lubbock.
Mrs. Ballard was born June 1, 1928, in Spur to Hade and Audie Byrd Condron. She was a lifelong resident of Spur. She graduated from Spur High School in 1945. She married James ´Buck´ Ballard in 1945. Mrs. Ballard was employed by the Dickens County Tax Assessor´s Office for 25 years serving 21 of those years as tax assessor/collector.
She also preceded in death by her husband, James "Buck" Ballard in 1985; her son, Hollis Wayne "Hotrod" Ballard in 1976; two brothers, Jack Condron in 1997 and Tom Condron in 2002.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna Drennan of Dickens and Sandra Paschall of Spur; one brother, Don Condron of Spur; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
