Services for Geraldine "Jerrie" Ballard, 74, of Spur were held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Burton officiating. Burial will be in Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home in Spur.
She died Saturday, January 4, 2003 in Lubbock.

Mrs. Ballard was born June 1, 1928, in Spur to Hade and Audie Byrd Condron. She was a lifelong resident of Spur. She graduated from Spur High School in 1945. She married James ´Buck´ Ballard in 1945. Mrs. Ballard was employed by the Dickens County Tax Assessor´s Office for 25 years serving 21 of those years as tax assessor/collector.

She also preceded in death by her husband, James "Buck" Ballard in 1985; her son, Hollis Wayne "Hotrod" Ballard in 1976; two brothers, Jack Condron in 1997 and Tom Condron in 2002.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna Drennan of Dickens and Sandra Paschall of Spur; one brother, Don Condron of Spur; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 415, Spur, TX 79370.
