Glen was a veteran of WWII and met Martha Elizabeth Caraway of Lubbock, TX while serving in the Army Air Corps as a link trainer. Glen and Beth were married July 13, 1953 in Lubbock. After his military service concluded, they moved to Nebraska where they farmed. In 1948 they moved to Arch, NM where Glen farmed for almost 50 years. He was also a locally known artist and enjoyed reading and studying the Bible.
He is survived by his wife, Beth of their home in Portales; his children and their spouses, Joe and Jody Kirkpatrick of Portales and Jane and Gary Shaffer of Springfield, IL; his three grandchildren are Jason (Kristi) Kirkpatrick of Maryville, MO and Jenny and Greg Shaffer of Springfield, IL; a great-granddaughter, Emmea Schettino of Portales; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon and Gladys Kirkpatrick of Roswell, NM and Vance and Barbara Kirkpatrick of Grant, NE, his sisters, Thelma Moser and Carol Burnham also of Grant, NE; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Melvin Kirkpatrick.
Services were under the direction of Wheeler Mortuary, 505-356-4455.
