Mrs. Freda Cossey died on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at her home in Wynne.
Freda was born in Perryville, Arkansas, on November 3, 1929, to the late Calvin Adam Black and Laura Violet Brown Black. She lived several places, Walnut Ridge, Paragould, Jonesboro, and West Helena. Freda was a graduate of Perryville High School, received her AA degree at Southern Baptist, and received her BSE at Arkansas State. Mrs. Cossey loved to teach children of all ages. She taught in the public school system for 35 years and was the Director of Wynne Baptist Wee School for 7 years. She joined Wynne Baptist Church in 1965 serving her church for 54 years.
She is survived by her daughter Laura Lynette Reid of Wynne, granddaughter, Laura Elisabeth Reid of Wynne, and her child, Morgan, granddaughter, Katherine Dianne Wood (Heth) of Wynne, and their children Jake, Morgan, Jenna, Eidy and Georgia, granddaughter, Emily Jeane Fowler (Josh) of Liberty, Texas, and their children, Beau, Logan, Lyla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and nine brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Kernodle Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at 3 PM at Kernodle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crosslawn Cemetery.
