Edith Narcelle Tyer, of Galena Park, TX, was born in Goose Creek, TX on August 9, 1917, went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2008.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 74 years, Isaac Clennis and by her parents, James Wesley Edge, and Ada Belle Edge, 1 brother, Weldon Edge, and 1 half-brother, "Spud".
Edith is survived by 3 half-brothers: Bell Edge, J.T. Edge, and George Edge; 3 sons: Ben Tyre and wife June of Houston, TX; Robert Tyre and wife Barbara of Pasadena, TX; Clayton Tyre and wife Jo of Houston, TX; 4 granddaughters: Teresa Cowey and husband Paul of Pasadena; Pam Perkins and husband Jim of Conroe; Lauren Malone and husband J. of Pasadena; and Charlotte Tyre of Boulder, CO; 7 grandsons: Clennis Tyre and wife Pam of Houston; Curtis Tyre and wife Durinda of Ft. Worth; Craig Tyre and wife Debbie of Houston; Travis Tyre and wife Jocelyn of Houston; Jason Wheeler of Houston; Glen (Dubby) Wheeler of Houston; and Michael Wheeler and wife Lindsey of Houston. 29 great grandchildren: Zachary, Meredith, and Garrett Cowey of Pasadena; Hunter, London, and Colton Perkins of Conroe; Morgan, Colby, Carter, and McKenna Malone of Pasadena; Katie, Andrew, Jeffrey, and Kellie Tyer of Houston; Sarah, Joshua, Michelle, Nichole, Rebecca, Jonathan, Joseph, Joel, and Abigail Tyer of Ft. Worth; Matthew and Corey Tyer of Houston; Samantha and Colton Tyer of Houston; Jonah Wheeler of Houston; Brock Michael Wheeler of Houston, and many friends, nephews, and nieces.

Edith was lovingly known to her grandchildren and great grandchildren as "Granny". Granny loved her family and treasured every minute with them, taking pictures of every occasion possible. She was an accomplished seamstress and made many articles of clothing for her family; she took special delight in sewing for her granddaughters. Granny crocheted afghans for family and friends and encouraged her granddaughters in their crocheting efforts. She loved her church and taught Sunday School at First Baptist Church Galena Park for many years. Up until failing health prevented her from attending church, Granny often gave devotionals in her beloved Sunday School class, the Bethel Class.

After retiring from Foleys Distribution Center, where she was employed for 33 years, Granny Devoted her life to her husband and family, constantly encouraging them and bragging on them to all with whom she came in contact. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 PM Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Rosewood Funeral Home, 3939 Pasadena Blvd., Pasadena, TX 77503. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 15, 2008 in The Chapel of Rosewood Funeral Home with Rev. LaDon Cox and Rev. Marcos Ramos officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park, Humble, TX.
