MRS. LE ROY SMITH
Ida J. Smith, 83, died Monday, October 15, in Mary McClellan hospital after a long illness. Services were conducted Wednesday at the Charles A. Ackley Funeral home by the Rev. Richard P. Young, pastor of the First Baptist church. Interment was in Woodlands cemetery.
Born June 24, 1901, in Hoosick Falls, she was the daughter of Charles and Carrie Gooding White. She was the wife of the late LeRoy Smith.
Mrs. Smith worked for the Asgrow Seed company for ** years. She was a member of the First Baptist church and the Cambridge Valley Senior Citizens.
Survivors are two daughters, Frances Guber of Fort Isabelle, Tex. and Alice Dawley of Cambridge; two sons, Charles E. and George S. Smith, both of Cambridge; 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
