Mary Anne Edwards, 72, of the 3000 block of Scotia Drive, died Dec. 30, 1997.

Born in Franklin County, N.C., she was the widow of Manuel E. Edwards Sr. and a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Delores Edwards of Virginia Beach and Brenda Winslow of Moncks Corner, S.C.; three sons, William Harris of Norlina, N.C., Gene Edwards of Norfolk and James C. Edwards of Round Hill, Va.; two sisters, Jane Peoples of Louisburg, N.C., and Eleanor Nash of Raleigh, N.C.; three brothers, William Henry Edwards of Henderson, N.C., Charlie Edwards of Salem, Va., and Rufus Edwards of Bayboro, N.C.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Woodland Heights Baptist Church by Dr. Ken Barnes and the Rev. Paul D. Moore. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
