Cleopatria was the eighth child and fourth daughter of Harvey Day Pearson (1776-1830) and Lydia Holden (1781-1857). She married John Andrew Fornea Jr. about 1835 in Washington Parish and the couple had seven known children between 1836 and 1849. Three of them died before age 20. They lived at Shady Grove (Ward 8, Washington Parish), LA.

Although he was 45 years old at the start of the Civil War, Cleopatria's husband enlisted as a private in Co. D, the 10th Louisiana Infantry. Five children still lived at home, ages 22 - 12. In 1876, Cleopatria Fornea filed claim seeking compensation for losses suffered during the Civil War - see Hary B Mills, "Southern Loyalists in the Civil War: The Southern Claims Commission" (2009), p. 203 - though her claim was disallowed.

In the last record found for her, the federal census of 1880, Cleopatria is 62 years old and living as head of household in the 5th Ward, Washington Parish, with her grandson William Fornea, age 14. William was the son of Benjamin R. Fornea and Anne Humphreys, his second wife. Records for the Old Fornea Cemetery shows her burial here. Over the years, this cemetery has been known as Sand Hill Cemetery, Pearson Cemetery, Graveyard Hill Cemetery, and Fornea Cemetery. When other Fornea
Cemeteries were formed, it became known as the "Old" Fornea Cemetery. See list of burials at http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/washington/cemeteries/wpghs/fornea2.txt
