Funeral Service For Dr. Capehart Held Saturday
Roxobel. – Funeral services for Dr. Alanson Capehart, 80, retired doctor, who died at his home Thursday night at 7 o'clock following one week's illness, were conducted Saturday morning from St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Roxobel, of which he was a member. The Rev. John M. Hamilton of Windsor officiated. Burial was in the churchyard. The youngest son of William J. and Eliza Grant Capehart, Dr. Capehart was born at "Cedar Lawn" in Northampton county. He was educated at Horner's Military Academy, Oxford, the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, and received his M. D. from Bellvue College of Medicine, New York City. He was a practicing physician at Lewiston and Roxobel until his retirement 20 years ago. He was also engaged in extensive farming operations. Greatly interested in community and church, he was active in public affairs, serving as president of Bank of Roxobel. He was also a member of the Masonic Order. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Frances Smallwood Capehart of Roxobel; two children, William Jonathan Capehart of Orlando, Fla., and Charles Smallwood Capehart, USNR; and a granddaughter, Frances Marian Capehart.
