He attended elementary and high school in Warroad, graduating in 1970. On January 22, 1971, Arnie enlisted in the Army. He served his country until his honorable discharge on July 21, 1974. After his discharge he moved back to Warroad, where he worked various jobs throughout the years, including Marvin Windows & Doors, driving bus, logging, and farming.
Arnie enjoyed playing softball and coaching girl’s fast pitch softball. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, raising cattle, and playing cards.
Arnie is survived by his sons: Nathan (Sara) Thompson, Nolan (Jana) Thompson, and Nicholas (Jennifer) Thompson; grandchildren: Jace, Grady, Kael, Jaydi, Andrew, Bo, Brock, Ayden, Autumn, Grace, and Anders; and siblings: Joyce, Karla, Kathy, Bill, and Jeff.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Gary and David.
Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Warroad.
