Cynthia Ann Smith Penrod
Cynthia Ann Smith was born on April 20, 1855 in Fillmore, Utah Territory. She was the eighth child born to Thomas Washington Smith and Susan Reynolds. The order of her siblings was: Mitchell Stevens, Polly Stevens, John William Stevens, Martha Ann, Sarah Elizabeth, James Edward, Nancy Jane, and Cynthia Ann.

On June 6, 1877 she married David Israel Penrod in the St. George Temple, St. George, Utah. They were the parents of eight children: Cynthia Jane, David Heber, Susannah, Delbert Alvin, James Arthur, Paul Ray, Polly Irene, and Loren Rupert.

Cynthia Ann passed away on December 19, 1910 at Fort Apache, Arizona Territory. She was buried at the Pinetop, Arizona Cemetery.
