Lucy Mae Poley
November 09, 1912 - June 25, 2019

Lucy Mae Poley, age 106, a resident of East Prairie, MO, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Mercy Hospital- South in St. Louis, MO. Born November 9, 1912, in Charleston, MO, to the late Ed and Laura Doomes Coffer, she was both a homemaker and farmer’s wife. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church in East Prairie. Lucy loved her flowers and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

On October 6, 1930, in New Madrid, MO, she married George Poley; he preceded her in death on March 9, 1996.

Lucy is survived by one son, David Ray Poley of Imperial, MO; and two daughters, Betty Allen of Imperial, MO and Wilma Sterling of Arnold, MO. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Teresa (Paul) Horn, Karen (Rodney) Wray, David (Tina) Poley, Jr., Ted (Tina) Poley, Jeff (Kelley) Sterling, Tom Poley, Lisa Miguel and Audrea (Marty) Lamb; sixteen great grandchildren, Alicia (Roger) Valdez, Adam (Rebecca) Horn, Kyle Poley, Maddie (Chris) Steffe, Morgan Poley, Megan Poley, Brad Sterling, Amanda (Isaiah) Caldwell, Megan Brooks, Dustin (Amanda) Poley, Justin (Claire) Poley, Sydney Miguel, Tori Miguel, Corey Lamb, Christian Lamb and Mackenzie Lamb; and ten great-great grandchildren, Lucy Valdez, Riley Valdez, Isabella Horn, Carly Horn, Olivia Horn, Kryslyn Poley, Sophie Poley, Everlee Poley, Archer Poley and Beckett Poley.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Paul Thomas Poley; seven brothers and five sisters.

Visitation and funeral services will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019, at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. in the Shelby Chapel, with Bro. George White officiating.

Burial will follow in Anniston Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David Poley, Jr., Jeff Sterling, Rodney Wray, Dustin Poley, Justin Poley and Adam Horn. Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Poley and Marty Lamb.
